Damjanic

The story begins in the early 18th century when the family Jurkovic began to raise vineyards in FUSKULIN near Porec. Work, patience and persistence led them to a position of one of the leading wineries in the region.

30-years of the last century have brought them numerous awards at various international wine exhibitions,  of which we today honor prominent EXPOSITION DU BIEN-être, PARIS 1928th where  a red wine won Grand prix with a gold medal.

At that time, most of the produced wines were exported to Trieste and  because of it quality was well received in the market. Until the end of the second World War, the family cultivated 30 hectares of agricultural land, of which 20 hectares were vineyards.

Postwar political currents in these areas did not tolerated entrepreneurial way of doing business, so the family harritage was decimated and destroyed, which stopped its centennial viticultural and winemaking tradition.
