Jakov

Dessert wine (former name: Prošek) from Šibenik.

Jakov is a natural dessert wine made by fermenting grape must from the best grapes from the Šibenik vineyards: Marastina, Debit, Trbljan. The Jakov has a distinctive bouquet and is characterized by a particularly harmonious taste. Jakov used to be called "Prošek", but since Croatia joined the EU, this name can no longer be used for legal reasons, as it is too reminiscent of the protected name for Italian Prosecco.

The Jakov (or earlier the "Prošek") has been cultivated in the area around Šibenik for many generations. It is therefore a typical regional drink that is enjoyed as an aperitif or simply on its own on the main square of every Dalmatian place with a chat among friends.
